The idea of the book is to engage readers in an intellectually stimulating odyssey, make them informed about the extraordinary exploration that India has deftly navigated the shifting currents of the ever- evolving global landscape, and how those steered its course with an unwavering commitment to “India’s Interests in [dynamically] Changing World: Renewed Aspirations [of the country] and [in] Leading [international events, and issues with] Diplomacy”. In a world where great powers gravitate towards the instinctive inclination of employing force, be it overtly, coercively, or deceptively, India has embraced a middle path— a path characterised by astute diplomacy, principled engagement, and strategic finesse. This is the right moment to review new policy options and postures as India marks its 75 of Independence from colonial rule internally and also externally marks Independent foreign policy posture. For this account, India’s external engagement in the last decade and leadership in various platforms, such as BRICS Summit 2012, IORA Summit 2013, ISA 2018, UNSC 2012, 2021- 2022, SCO 2023, and G20 2023, are of particular importance. Authored by a group of young scholars, this seminal work presents a compelling and thought-provoking exploration of the limitations faced by India in its evolving balancing role. With a fresh and invigorating perspective, the book sheds light on the challenges India must address to navigate its dynamic position on the global stage effectively.
This book will be of much interest to students of Geopolitics, Strategic Studies, European Studies, Maritime Studies in general and International Relations in general.
