The potential lies in this segment can be channelized to enhance the overall productive capacity of the economy. There are five basic components of women’s empowerment. First, women’s sense of self-worth; second, their right to have and to determine choices; third, their right to have access to opportunities and resources; fourth, their right to have power to control their own lives, both within and outside the home; and fifth, their ability to influence the direction of social change to create a more just social and economic order, nationally and internationally.
The present book entitled ‘Women Empowerment in India: Perspective, Issues and Challenges’ deals with the issues and challenges faced by the women in all spheres of life and covers a range of topics related to women empowerment in India. It highlights the economic as well as literary aspects of problems and issues faced by women on one hand and opportunities for their empowerment on the other. The book is divided into two sections. First section includes papers which highlight various economic aspects of women empowerment, and second section consist of papers that highlight literary aspects. The book consists of papers written by scholars and academicians from various parts of the country exploring economic, social, political, and literary aspects of the present theme.
