This book examines the role of civil society in post-conflict peacebuilding, with particular reference to Sri Lanka after the end of the civil war. Drawing on extensive field research, interviews, and analysis, the study explores how civil society organisations contribute to reconciliation, community development, democratic participation, and sustainable peace.

The book highlights the opportunities and challenges faced by civil society actors in rebuilding trust and fostering social cohesion in a divided society. Examining the interactions among state institutions, local communities, and non-governmental organisations provides valuable insights into the complex processes of post-conflict recovery and peacebuilding.
